Just a quick not to mention that the instructions from Tesserax assume that the device that you call your "modem" is just that......a simple modem with only one Ethernet......something like the example that you see below:

If you are not sure about what type of modem that you might have, please post back with the manufacturer name and model number of the modem. We do not need a serial number.......just the make and model number of the modem.

The only way you can use the internet is by connecting the PC to it. You do that via the Airport Express router. And as such to work, you must open ports in the Express so it can communicate using your special C4FM protocol over standard internet connection. So what Bob said makes sense.. it has to be part of the internet connection.

If you are using the airport express purely in your own network and not extending beyond your own house.. then you do not need port forwarding because everything is LAN.. no WAN interface is crossed.

Please show how you are using the Airport Express and not connecting to the internet.

I can’t find that advanced icon in my Airport Express

This is Mac version of 5.6 but it looks about the same.

Click manual setup.

I am using Airport Express to connect and access the net, I have 6 devises ( 1 pc,1 Mc, 1 iPad, 1tablet, 1 cellphone and 1 smart tv) 5 of the access the net wirelessly via Airport Express and the tv is ethernet connected to Airport Express with a cord using the ethernet outlet in the back of the Airport Express, how did you get to the last part of your screen shot that says port Mapping Set up Assistant.

If you want to set up Port Mapping on the AirPort Express.....then it must NOT be configured to operate in Bridge Mode.

To see if you have set up the AirPort Express in Bridge Mode......which will not allow Port Mapping on the AirPort Express......

Open AirPort Utility

Click on the AirPort Express

Click Manual Setup

Click the Internet globe at the top of the window

Check the setting for Connection Sharing. If it is currently set to "Off (Bridge Mode)", then you must set up Port Mapping or Port Forwarding on another device.....the one that is acting as your modem.

That is why we first asked what type of modem or connection that you were using to provide your Internet service.

To configure port mapping using the AirPort Utility for Windows, click on the Advanced icon, and then, on the Port Mapping tab.

Then click on the plus "+" button to add a port mapping.

On the Port Mapping Information window:

  • Enter a desired description for the mapping in the Description field.
  • Enter: 46100, 46110, 46112, 46114, 46120, 46122 in the Public Port Number(s) and Private Port Number(s) fields.
  • Enter the local IP address of your Wires-X device in the Private IP Address field.
  • Click on OK when done.
  • Click on Update and allow the base station to restart.

Bob I am not sure that you get my point I didn’t mention any modems at all, by the way I have a cable modem Motorola Arris SB6121 for hi speed internet but this is not what I am talking about, I am a general class Ham Radio user I have so many radios to practice my hobby , Yaesu ( a Japanese ham radio manufact) cam up with a new world wide communication system they cal it digital fusion system with that you can talk to any one in the world if he has the same system, they sell you a devise is called Wires-X ( wide coverage internet repeater enhancement), if you connect that to your pc and your ham radio via the antenna you will be able to transmit and receive world wide, that wires-x devise is calling to open some protocol ports used for communication (port 46100 all the way to 46122) and that is my concern, has nothing to do at all with modems, I hope that I make my self clear.
