Photos not updating on Mac OS 10.13.4

.: Hello. I have a 2012 MacBook, using MacOS High Sierra 10.13.4. Despite its age, it still functions well and is robust.

I have the Photos app running on my MacBook, iPad Pro, and iPhone 6s. Photos taken with either the iPad or iPhone update shortly thereafter on the other device. On my MacBook, it hasn't updated since 10 May 2018. It says "Updating...", and that's it. There are 3,702 photos and 156 videos there already.

I am aware that this question has been asked a number of times already, but I am unable to reply or respond to the previous threads. My apologies if this has been resolved already and I missed finding the solution.

I checked the above, and both smart albums were empty (as best I could determine.)

The exact status of my Photos reads: 3702 Photos, 156 Videos / Updating ...
