Facebook Messenger App Gifs Not Working

I’m using fb messenger on my iphone & the Gif gifs in the app aren’t working. It lets me search for them but when I get to the sending, it isn’t showing up for anyone else to see, just a blank box. The same goes for the others in my messenger group. What’s going on with my phone and/or the app? I can use the Giphy in messenger but it‘s only 1 random search result by “roulette”, or I can copy & paste gifs from my browser but this is a hassle. Please help! Thanks.

I have the same problem and my iOS is up to date. I tried reinstalling messenger and facebook app but didn't seem to help. Also, I noticed that if I send the gifs from my laptop it seems to show so it's definitely the messenger app issue. Have you found a solution?

Hi,

You may need to update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.

I have the same problem and my iOS is perfectly up to date: iOS 11.4 per the "Software Update" tab under "General" in "Settings." I have deleted and reinstalled Messenger, and turned the phone off and on again. What other troubleshooting can I do?
