Loose lightning Charging Connection SOLVED

User uploaded fileMy iPad would not charge reliably because the Lightning connector was too loose when inserted in the female plug on my iPad. I would have to wiggle it around to make sure it was actually charging and it would often stop charging if I did not apply continual pressure to the plug. Finally i solved this problem by cutting a tiny rectangular strip of electrical tape (other types of tape may work as well) and inserted one end into the Lightning receptacle on my iPad so that the adhesive side would cover the flat interior of the receptacle on the side where the connecting pins are NOT located. If your screen is face up this is the top side of the receptacle. The tape goes maybe a 1/4" into the hole and extends outside a bit to ensure that when you insert the Lightning connector the tape does not get bunched up inside the hole. Now my charging connector fits snuggly and it charges without cutting in and out.
