No longer getting emergency info on lock screen even though enabled

I checked my health app and it has my data and it has the button set to enable on lock screen. But still not seeing it on my iPhone (I do see it on my Apple watch). I even tried turning it off, rebooting my phone and tutning it back on and rebooting my phone, but I still don’t see it On my iPhone. Please advise.

Hello Lorraine94588,

I see that you're not able to see your Health ID info on your iPhone lock screen.

If you're testing to see if Medical ID is available from the lock screen, make sure to check both the Enter Passcode screen as well as the emergency call screen shown in Set up your Medical ID in the Health app on your iPhone and Use Emergency SOS on your iPhone .

Depending on what iPhone model you have, it may help to temporarily turn off Face ID or Touch ID (note that you'll have to set the feature up again to recognize your fingerprint / face when you turn it back on).

Pressing the Home button twice with a finger you have not added to Touch ID will also bring up the Enter Passcode screen. From there, you should see the Emergency button in the bottom left of the screen.

If you still can't access the emergency info from either of the screens I mentioned, more information may help us diagnose the issue:

- What type of iPhone do you have?
- What software are you using?
- How long have you had this issue?

Have a good day!

Hi!

Thanks for quick reply.

Answers to your questions:

- What type of iPhone do you have?

iPhone 7

- What software are you using?

Version 11.4 (15F79).

- How long have you had this issue?

Not sure how long the issue has been happening. I don't test the emergency feature very often. (Who does?) I would expect it to be 99.99999 % reliable without users needing to test it frequently.

A quick background:

My son recently had a sever allergy attack and I wanted to make sure all our phones’ emergency mechanisms were working properly. I was not able to get mine working. My watch worked fine.

Then I went to apple store. It took them a long time with several workers trying it. SCARY!! Finally someone said to try pressing the lock button 5 times which worked. BUT WHO WILL KNOW TO DO THAT?

My main concern/request now:

If people in Apple store couldn't figure it out quickly, will 911 emergency responders be able to?

For such a critical feature, can Apple make accessing emergency work as it used to (long press of power button)? Then everyone would know how to use it, and it can help to save lives. As it is now, long press of power button wont show emergency numbers so people would assume I hadn't enabled it.

Thanks.

Lorraine
