How can i disable the auto sleep for the screen to play games on the iphone x?

I think the last update now. make my screen power off when ever i turn my phone for landscape mode and cover the ear piece. I does this during games and when i watch youtube. Can this feature be disabled while my phone is in landscape mode?

iPhone X, iOS 11.4

It is on. However, if I cover the notch (ie. holding phone with left hand while playing a game like Fortnite) my phone is useless as the screen continuously turns off. It makes sense while in portrait mode but problematic in landscape.
