Just updated payment method and been charged 7.99 for itunes and App Store?

I’ve just updated my payment method because for some reason my card wasn’t a valid payment method, and i’ve been charged 7.99 for App Store and iTunes? I don’t understand because I don’t have any payments apart from Netflix and iCloud storage space

Apple ID - payment card authorization holds in the iTunes Store

Apple ID - If you see ‘itunes.com/bill‘ or an unfamiliar charge on your bank, credit card, or debit statement

Apple charges you a certain amount as a way to verify your payment method. This payment will be canceled—and funds returned to your card—in a couple of days.
