Export Outlook Distribution Lists to Excel

You may find this useful. Any other methods I have tried involve changing Identities and this is a long-winded and error-prone process. This is a bit clunky but it works.

How to get Outlook Email addresses into an Excel Spreadsheet

  1. Select and copy the email addresses from the Outlook distribution list
  2. Open Text Editor and create a new file, formatting it as plain text
  3. Paste the email addresses into the text file
  4. Edit using Find and Replace, finding ; and replace all with ,
  5. Save the file with the extension CSV
  6. Import the CSV file into Excel as a comma delimited file
  7. All the email addresses will be imported into row 1

8. Copy row 1 and Paste Special into say row 2 using the transpose function

9. Delete Row 1 with all the email addresses and create a new row 1 with the heading Email

10. Save the Excel file as an Excel workbook with the default extension xslx
