minimized windows freeze in High Sierra

I have occasionally the same problem reported in a 2017 post with exactly the same title (verbatim: "When minimizing windows, they often freeze in an interesting to look at but annoying pattern in mid-minimization. This is particularly true of Mac Mail and to a lesser extent Firefox and Safari. Usually the the windows eventually unfreeze and continue their path to minimized state").

Quite annoying, even if not crucial - never had to restart any application or the computer. I suspect it has to do with the graphic card. Operating a Macbook Pro 2016 with touch bar (3.3 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3, Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB). Any idea of proposal for a solution?

Thanks!

Hi there, Orlando!
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having issues with windows freezing when minimizing and I am happy to help out! First, take a look at this article with steps to follow to Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac. This will perform checks and stop certain software from starting up automatically. Once you are in safe mode, check to see if the issue is still happening. Also, check out this article with steps for How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac to create a new user and test the issue in the new account to see if the issue is user specific or system wide.
Let me know the results and have a great day!
