Is there a workaround for this problem? I make sure to close down each day and there are no applications running other than the one in use, i.e. mail freezes all through the day and the only solution so far is to wait for a very long while, or force the machine to restart.

To leave Safe Mode, choose “Restart” at the bottom.

I should have been more specific with my question. The only application that freezes is Apple Mail. Everything else works fine and there are no other issues.
Is your suggestion still the same?
