How do I get rid of Aimersoft Helper Compact on my iMac?

Though the performance of my Mac does not seem to be hindered, I do get a pesky pop-up saying that "70 issues have been found". Same message for about a 6 months now...pops up about an hour after I'm on, then about every 2 hours thereafter. Here is a screenshot of the pop-up:

I am not aware of downloading or accepting anything from Aimersoft. However, I have noticed Aimersoft in my Login items list, repeated many times in a row. The kind of item is listed as "unknown". I've tried doing a search on my computer to find where it's hidden, but no luck, except for the Login items list as mentioned above.

I thought the problem would go away when I updated to version OS 10.13.5 in June, but it had no effect on eliminating the recurrence of the pop-up.

My Mac info:

OS High Sierra 10.13.5

iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011)

Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Thanks for your help.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

A +1 for MalwareBytes. It is a free download and if you want to pay for it you can. There is a great deal of information about Malwarebytes on the Internet including:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malwarebytes_(software) (BTW, this took less than 10 seconds to find by doing a Google search on "What is Malwarebytes?")

However short of using that then you may want to consider starting over and doing an erase and install.

Aimersoft is an executable program which is shortly known as (ASHelper.exe) which is developed by Aimersoft Software Studio. The setup package typically installs 42 files.

To remove this files:

1.GO to Start menu.

2. Click Control Panel.

3. Under that choose Programs. You can able to see Uninstall a Program’ in Windows Vista/7/8 and Add or Remove’ Programs in Windows XP.

4.Find for Aimersoft and Click Uninstall
