Apple Music “Not Playing”

I am unable to stream anything on the Music app, if I do not have the song or album downloaded I get a “Not Playing” Banner and it will not play. Is this a known issue ? Any idea how to fix ?User uploaded file

Hi there, kglover04!
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having an issue with your Music app not playing your Apple Music and I’m happy to assist! First, check out this article with steps to follow for How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and quit the Music app. Then, follow the steps here to Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Once you have restarted, test to see if the issues are still going on with playing music. You should also go to Settings > Music and check to be sure iCloud Music Library is turned on.
If the issue is still going on, I suggest going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all your network settings, including Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings, so be sure you have that information available to reconnect.
Let me know the results and take care!

I have this issue as well, can't stream on 3g, 4g and wifi.

I have tried everything suggested:

turning on and off iCloud music

deleting the music app,

signing in with a different apple account,

turning off apple music,

erasing network settings,

EE for a carrier update,

erasing all downloaded music.

It even followed me onto my new phone.

I have come to the conclusion that it is probably a bug because EE is trying to give me a free trial of three months.

(but I can't use this as I'm already signed up).

The fact this keeps appearing is also bug, but I guess there is a logic issue there, to be honest it is about the only plausible issue left.

As this has been an outstanding issue for at least 8-9 months I can't see apple fixing this any time soon, apparently they don't read these boards.

So unless your willing to go through the whole issue of contacting apple support and being put through the process of wiping your phone, loosing all your wifi passwords off your iCloud account (this happened to me last time). I suggest your best bet is switching to another music provider as a resolution, tbh they are all basically the same.

From my experience when it comes to bugs, they have a customer is always wrong policy so In my opinion on this type of service, you will probably just get better support and what your pay for from another.
