iPad 5.1.1 (first generation), Youtube issue

Dear all,

The only purpose for my old iPad (hardware still working fine) was to browse the world wide web a little and to watch youtube videos. Since a few weeks, the videos do not work anymore even not via Safari at m.youtube.com ...

Any suggestions how to solve that problem? I would hate to throw that device away, as I am educated to repair things instead of following a throw-away mentality.

Unfortunately, there comes a time in all electronic devices' lives where they simply can no longer work and support the day to day tasks.

Youtube has removed app support for iOS 5, so even the App from the App store can no longer work, and the website I find can still be loaded but many videos will not play or will crash Safari.

At 8 years, it may time to replace the device. You don't need to throw it away, but you do need to accept its simply no longer capable of supporting current tasks and their demands.

I keep my first generation iPad as a clock and digital picture frame and it works fine, but I understand its a very old device now in terms of mobile computing and don't do anything else on it.

There just comes a time when you need to move forward. It's not about trying to fix something its simply realizing its now to old and lacks the resources for anything other than the more basic tasks.
