Error Importing CD

I have tried numerous times to import a CD into iTunes using the external Apple CD and it keeps failing. When I insert the CD it recognizes it, iTunes launches and asks if I wan to import and as soon as i answer and it starts, I receive "an error occurred while converting the file "name of song". The required disk cannot be found.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that you have not been able to import music from a CD as you are receiving an error. Turning on error correction as described in the article below may help:

iTunes for Mac: Import songs from CDs

To turn on error correction when importing songs from CDs:

Choose iTunes > Preferences.

In the General pane, click Import Settings.

Select “Use error correction when reading Audio CDs.”

Insert the CD and import the songs again.
