iPad freezes/resprings (stacks + backboardd). Why?

Hello everyone!

Not even a month ago I bought a brand new iPad 9.7 2018 model. I only have about 10 apps downloaded and I only use it for reading on the web.

Within a week I experienced the first freeze/crash. The screen will lock up for 15-60 seconds (it won't respond to any input) and then the iPad will show a black screen with a spinning gear for 3 second before kicking me back to the lock screen.

It sometimes does this up to 5 times a day! Only 1 app is ever running (with no apps in the background). My logs are filled with "Stacks + Backboardd" crashes.

The thing is brand new! How can this happen? Can I even take it back to the store at this point?

If anyone has any info to help me out than that would be amazing. Thank you!
