Suspect of Battery Swelling

Dear all,

Recently I just found that my mac's lid does not close flush. Later on I found that the palm rests which sandwich the trackpad bulged slightly (which was confirmed by placing a ruler on them and obviously there were small bulges that are less than 1 mm tall). Then, I checked with the iStat Menus that I had installed previously regarding my battery status. It states that my battery's health is 90%. So do these all signify my battery has swollen? If the battery needs to be replaced, may I know how long will the repair process take?

Thank you very much and have a nice day.

Battery health of 90% should mean the battery is in good condition but the symptoms you describe do suggest something is wrong. Make an appointment and have it checked. Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

Also, go to About this Mac / System Report / Power and see what it says about the battery.

in most cases they will mail it away, swelling batteries are often covered under a warranty extension program for some models. The reason they mail it away, and you want them to, the techs will go over every component that could have become damaged and replace as needed, the store would likely just replace the battery and case if needed.

dont delay in getting this looked after, but could be about a week
