Apple 30 Cinema Display Resolution issue with High Sierra
My Apple 30" Cinema Display native resolution (2560x1600) is no longer an option with High Sierra. I'm assuming that Apple has chosen not to support this legacy hardware with the current OS. (highest res available is 1280x800).
Anyone know of a remedy for this issue? (other than buying g a new monitor)
I was talking to an Apple Support Tech today about an iPhone issue. My monitor was working perfectly. He suggested I reset the NV RAM. After THAT reset, the monitor resolution became an issue. I was still running Sierra 10.12.6 at that time. The tech then suggested that I upgrade to current High Sierra -which did not resolve the monitor issue. A senior tech suggest that I replace the Mini DisplayPort To Dual-link Adaptor, which I did today. No improvement.
There seems to be no available firmware update to this monitor. I would prefer not to have to purchase a new monitor at this time -IF there is a software fix to the issue. I suspect that I'm not the only 30" Cinema display owner with this issue. Does anyone know of an option to restore 2560x1600 resolution to this legacy device?
(I am now running High Sierra 10.13.15 on Late 2013 Mac Pro, with Apple 30" cinema Display)
Thanks
