Instagram crashing on iOS 11.4

I’m having that same issue. 11.4 crashed my iphone7 and I had to restore my phone because it was stuck in recovery mode and wouldn’t update. Since restoring everything seems to work fine except instagram. I’ve also tried all of the aforementioned fixes with no luck.

Omg i feel so stupid for accidentally updating to ios 11.4 😟. I wonder if many other ios 11.4 users also have the same problem with Instagram. As far as i have searched, there's not yet a way to make it work...

Agreed. It crashed my phone, which to my fault had not been backed up in 11 months. I lost a years worth of contacts, messages and photos including everything I’d taken of my 15 day old daughter. Finally had to restore my phone and now it’s still a brick because things keep creasing. 11.4 is the worst.

The update has obvious bugs given the fact it completely bricks phones. The majority of users seem to be able to reinstall Instagram after a hard reset however that’s not working for some of us. You can’t report the issue to Instagram because their system of reporting issues requires you to do so through the app, which will not open. So you can see our predicament.

I've done this and it didn't work. I have also tried every other suggestion I've found online yet Instagram will not open. Is there anywhere I could find a tentative date when the next iOS mini update will happen? Because this is incredibly frustrating having to toy with my phone settings, data, and backups only for literally nothing to work. I can't foresee any other trick working so I think the only solution to this issue for everyone is for Apple to send out another update.

The backup is corrupt. restore the device to factory settings and set up as new and it should work.

This is an Instagram issue, not an iOS issue. You need to contact the app developer as per

Did you delete the app and then force restart the device?

I missed where you wrote that the first time. Did it start when you restored the device or did it start recently? Have you tried to reset anything else or change any settings?

Does the Facebook app do the same thing? Do you have restrictions set?
