Outgoing server for my email address is set to iCloud I removed my email account and set it up again, now the outgoing server is set to iCloud and I cannot send emails anymore. I tried to add another SMTP outgoing server with my email providers data, it connects (connection doctor says) but won't send emails, because "The server response was: Authentication required". Any ideas how to fix this? It is the same email address I use as my apple ID.

SMTP password defaults to off Hi, This is unrelated to the other question I have on this forum at the moment. Recently, I can receive Gmail but not send. I have never been able to send email using iCloud. I have configured the settings as instructed. Gmail SMTP setup settings: SMTP username: Your Gmail address. SMTP password: Your Gmail password. SMTP server address: smtp.gmail.com. Gmail SMTP port (TLS): 587. SMTP port (SSL): 465. SMTP TLS/SSL required: yes. I notice that when I close the preferences and re-open them, the authentication has often defaulted from "passoword" back to "None". However, this is intermittent. Any suggestions how to fix please?

Yes, where to do so, I have Mail server settings for iCloud email clients - Apple Support

still all the credentials etc. are correct. Mail can be received - can not send it from this 2017 machine.. IPhone works other iMac 2011 also. This does -

Deleted both e-mail accounts and reseted them - it works now.
