I am using iPhoneX, with iOS 11.4. My phone got reset suddenly without touching and login remotely on any other device using my apple ID. It was in my pocket only and without my knowledge and confirmation everything got erased. I lost my one month data. Would like to understand how it has happened and how do I make sure that it want happen in future?

If anyone else had access for that brief moment to your Apple ID, that person could have erased your iPhone remotely with "Find My iPhone".

the only other option from above, would be if you had an exchange email or device management software installed for work accounts or similar. Additionally if you installed an app with an EULA allowing that action to remote manage your device (again like software from employer) than that can happen.. If this is the case contact your IT department

I really don't know how it could happen, but I can suggest two things:
- Always lock your iphone before you put it into your pocket;
- Make a full backup of your device on a regular basis (at least once a week, so that you can retrieve all your data).

Thanks for your reply and suggestions. Two-factor authentication is already activated. Nobody can login with my Apple ID without verification code. My phone was in locked mode only and I am sure that nobody has accessed it when the issue happened. I am very surprised and disappointed with this issue.

My was locked only and I could restore my Phone with my last backup, which was a month old. But my concern is:
- How it has happened without my confirmation and knowledge?
- Is there any setting which automatically Erase Data after some failed attempts?
- How can we disable that setting?
