LPDDR3 vs. DDR3
I am looking to upgrade the memory on my new MacBook Pro and I want to make sure that installing DDR3 ram rather than the already installed LPDDR3 won’t have a significant impact on the battery life of my Mac.

Memory power consumption would increase approximately 12%. I don't know how much that impacts power consumption relative to how much memory power consumption is.
I know it will drain power faster but I’m just trying to see how significant the change will be
The LP means low power. Non-LP uses more power thus, less battery life.
¿Why would you install memory that would reduce your power consumption in the slightest? It won't speed anything up, the RAM timing is fixed.
The correct RAM SODIMMs are readily available.
