Not receiving Ask to Buy requests

I have enabled ask to buy for 2 children on my account. I was receiving their ask to buy requests until a few weeks ago. Now, they’re able to ask permission but I never receive the request. From either of them. How can I fix?

I am having the same issue! The only way to approve anything is if my child clicks approve in person on their device. I have to also add a authentication code. I wonder if the 2nd level verification is what’s causing it because I nevertheless had that issue before. But I am not able to turn that off... I feel your frustration!!!

Also, have you tried:

Resetting your device:

Hold down the Power and Volume Down button and continue to hold them both down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Lock screen displays, see if the Ask to Buy Notification comes through.

Are you using Messages for iCloud? iCloud Photo Library with a lot of activity? Apple Music with a lot of activity?

You can turn 2 factor authentication off in your account in www.appleid.com.

Try a reset of all devices, also.

If you have Two-Factor Authentication turned on, and it has been on for more than 2 weeks, you cannot turn it off:

Can I turn off two-factor authentication after I’ve turned it on?

If you already use two-factor authentication, you can no longer turn it off. Certain features in the latest versions of iOS and macOS require this extra level of security, which is designed to protect your information. If you recently updated your account, however, you can unenroll for a period of two weeks. Just open your enrollment confirmation email and click the link to return to your previous security settings. Keep in mind, this makes your account less secure and means that you can't use features that require a higher level of security.
