news app not updating

After spending weeks searching for the answer to this and finding that nothing worked, I am so pleased I have finally fixed it by trial and error!

I have figured out that the news app stopped refreshing for me after I changed SIM cards or time zones / countries (not sure which). I had been travelling, so makes sense.

After I got to the new country, I needed to unfollow and then refollow all of my favourites - and then the ‘for you’’ feed refreshed again.

So happy to have it back and hope this helps someone else!

The “For You” section of the older Apple News App, on older iPads, running iOS 9, is not showing updated content, BUT, if you go to the Favorites option, the contents in your Favorites should be up to date.

The “For You” section, for some unknown reason, is no longer updating/showing recent content.

Using the Favorites category, ALL Favorites content are giving updated content and any new content you add is still being updated, as well.

Try it and see!

The Apple News section of the Favroites category is the only section not updating.

All other non-Apple news content should be updating fine.

Apple is revamping its News app for the up and coming iOS 12.

There is a strong possibility that Apple is abandoning its support and news content under the old iOS 9.3.5 version of the Apple News app.

If this is not acceptable to I recommend trying another third party new aggragating app, like Flipboard.

It was nothing you did.

The “For You” section in the iOS 9 Apple News app started updating, once again, as well as the Apple product News section.

Many users in two other similar post threads reported that the “For You section in the iOS 9.3.5 version of the Apple News app had started updating its content.

So, hopefully, Apple has corrected the issue for good, this time.

None of the answers here actually solve the problem or state whether Apple can fix ‘For You’ in older devices. sure you can manually click round each news outlet one at a time in Favourites, but that is not as easy. Can anyone say whether there is an actual FIX for this?

I also have the same question that my news application did not update but after reading all this all answer now I am able to know the solution, but I have one more question that when I try to verify my iPad with Gmail it seems error, so I decide to go http://techdial.strikingly.com/ for fixing this issue, They told me the process which will not clear to me, if anyone gave me a suggestion then it would be great

I've tried rebooting several times.

Favorites are stuck too.

Apple decided to change iTunes so I can't delete and reload the app.

Running 9.3.5 on an iPad mini "Your software is up to date."

(Note: Apple News app on my iPhone works fine, and updates regularly. 11.4.1)

I have ios11 and I’m using it in my iPhone.

Mine stopped working again a week ago, so I’m sure I’m not the only person it’s happened to. Posting in case it helps others :)
