Unable to add boarding pass to wallet with scan feature.

I am trying to add a boarding pass from a QR code for an upcoming flight on Sun Country airlines, but this feature doesn't seem to be working.

1. I launch the wallet app

2. I click "Edit Passes"

3. I click "Scan Code"

4. The camera app is launched

5. The camera senses the QR code which brings up a banner with the QR code information.

--> Clicking this banner launches a search in Safari (since the banner alert is coming from Safari.)

--> If I take a picture, it just saves the picture to my camera roll, it does not add the pass to my wallet.

I have quit the app and retried the above steps several times now, each time I am unsuccessful at adding the pass to my wallet.

This feature appears broken.

I am running iOS 11.4 on my iPhone 7
