Chinese Closed Captions - Help Needed!!

Hi Guys,

I need some major help please. I have played around with FCPX for home stuff and now started editing a few things for work, nothing fancy at all. I have been asked by my work if I can add Chinese subtitles to an existing company video.

What I am trying to do, is add multiple languages as closed captions so that our English sales people can go out in the field, run the video in front of a customer and if required select the appropriate closed caption.

I cannot for the life of me work out how to export the movie with these captions embedded. I also cannot get the captions to work in CEA-608 format. If I select CEA-608, Simplified Chinese, Create a Caption and then cut and paste my translated text from a xls file the caption box is red. Is this due to the language being used?

Any advice or guidance would be great.

Thanks

Paul

Depending where and how you want to publish the video you can use iTT captions. They support every language.

Once finished use my X-Title Caption Exporter to convert all captions in one step to SRT for YouTube etc.

If you wait another day or two the new version will let you create a “corporate video website” with one click.
