Setting up apple tv without other apple or windows product

Hello,

I try to set up my apple tv, which I got from my internet provider. I created a apple id and tried to login to the account on the apple tv, but I gives me following message:

"Before using this Apple ID on your Apple TV, you must first login into an IOS device, Mac or PC to create an iTunes Store Account."

I do not have an IOS device, Mac or PC (no MS Windows)...how do I do go about activating my account? Why do you need another device anyway?

Since you cannot create a store account on an Apple TV, and you must create an account to proceed, the question of why Apple have set it up this way is somewhat moot. Temporary access to a computer to create the account would do. You'd probably need access to a computer to update payment details too, as or when that became necessary.

Thanks for your fast reply. Ok, this is a bit frustrating. First you have to create an apple id online, because you cannot create it via the apple tv. Then, you have to install software on another device to use the app store on the apple tv. This seems overly complicated and not very user friendly...
