canon scanner fails after update

After upgrading to High Sierra, my Canoscan 5600F can only scan one document. It hangs if I try to scan a second document. To work around this I must quit Canon's scan software (Navigator) after every scan. Upgrading to the latest scan software and driver did not improve the issue. Any suggestions?

You say you updated to the latest software can you confirm it is MP Navigator EX 2.0.8, if not you can download it from here, https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/scanners/canoscan_ser ies/canoscan_5600f.aspx?type=download&la…

make sure the correct OS is selected in the Operating System dropdown.

Check that you downloaded the correct driver here, CanoScan 5600F - Support - Download drivers, software and manuals - Canon UK

Eau Rouge, thanks for the encouragement to try again. It's scanning now. There are three files to download, I only downloaded two. There is the MP Navigator EX 2.0.8, 5600F Scanner Driver Ver 14.115a and ICA Driver Ver 4.1.4a. I failed to download the ICA Driver . . . my fault. Thanks for the quick reply!
