AirPod has cracks on both sides of it

My right ear airpod has cracks on both sides of the base, starting from the magnetic metal piece up about 1/4 of an inch.. Both cracks start where the metal piece is separated, where it looks like it was cut in half. This wasn’t done by me, they where never dropped. This is a manufactured error, and needs to be covered under the 1 year warranty. It is clearly a mechanical default because of the natural split of the magnetic metal piece.

Are you referring to an Apple Store when you say you just "finished up"? If that is the case, then making a call to Apple Care may not help, but it would require you sending the devices in to have the evaluated. Just remember, Apple makes the final decision on this. What you think may be the reason may not be what they decide, just so you are aware.

Hello, Pike1915!

Apple is able to address this issue at no-cost if it is covered under warranty and it wasn’t caused by accidental damage (ex: water damage, fall damage, etc).

You are able to contact Apple Support and have them do a mail in repair to determine what caused the cracks. As well as replace the certain AirPod at normal replacement cost if it is accidental damage.
