Spotlight, Finder Search not working well

I'm on mid-2015 MB Pro, OS 10.13.5.

Spotlight and Finder Search aren't working well.

Can't find text in Word docs.

This is important for my work.

Anyway to reset Spotlight? Any way to tell why it nor Finder Search aren't working right?

Can going into SafeBoot help spot things?

Anything to try without deleting drive contents?

Spotlight not re-indexing or finding anything. Search suddenly stopped working in Calendar. So I tried forcing a rebuild of spotlight indexing - by excluding the HD and then including it again. Spotlight Indexing Problem Cant Be Temporarily Solved Spotlight searches on my mac (Monterey 12.0.1) does not bring many files I am looking for. Even the ones I use everyday. Community forum recommends: "Drag the disk or folder that you want to index again to the list of locations that Spotlight is prevented from searching. Or click the add button (+) and select the disk or folder to add. From the same list of locations, select the disk or folder that you just added. Then click the remove button (–) to remove it from the list." This helps at first but in a short while same problem occurs. I have to do this everyday. Does anybody have a temporary solution to spotlight indexing problem? Thank you!

Try rebuilding Spotlight index.

What's strange is that before, in the Finder search, if I put quotes on one side of the text I was searching for it would search for that phrase. Now, it makes that search impossible.
