I first got iCloud storage because I didn’t have enough storage on my old phone for all of my photos but recently I have bought a new phone with 256 GB memory so I don’t really need my iCloud storage any more. But I have all of the photos from my iCloud on my current device. So I was just wondering if I cancel my iCloud storage will all the photos delete permanently or will they just stay on my phone as I have enough storage for them

As long as there’s enough storage space, yes.
iCloud isn’t just for storage. You can use iCloud to backup your data and restore a backup if necessary.

whenever i try to switch off icloud photo library it says that its unable to download my pictures. and yes i used icloud to backup whatsapp so that i can transfer my chat history to my new phone. if i delete icloud will my chat history delete too?
