My Apple ID recovery email is the same as my Apple ID

So i have this old phone with an old iCloud account in it and i forgot my password whilst im trying to reset the phone. I have tried to recover the password through the two ways presented. First it asked me a security question, in which i couldn't answer for some reason, i usually am honest in security questions and it was a question on my birthday, so then it asked me to recover the account through the recovery email, however the issue is it only states that the email ends with

I understand you're having some trouble accessing an old iPhone that's locked to your Apple ID. I want to help you get that working.

It's likely that the device you have is locked by the Find My iPhone Activation Lock. To turn off Find My iPhone on that device, you'll need to follow the steps here:
Turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

You'll need to access your Apple ID to be able to turn off Find My iPhone, and to reset your Apple ID, you'll need to continue with the steps here:

If you're still unable to recover your Apple ID, you will want to speak to the Account Security experts for Apple ID here:
