Documents Grayed Out in iCloud Documents Folder?

I just saved a .pdf document from Safari to the Documents folder in iCloud. Its grayed out. Is that because its a PDF file? If so, how do I convert and view in Pages?

Thank you,

Scott

Pages does not open PDF documents, so they will remain grayed out.

If it is a one-page PDF, you can simply drag/drop it onto an open Pages for Mac document, and it becomes a document object that you can position, scale, rotate, etc. If it is a multi-page PDF, then you can select each thumbnail in Preview, and export a single thumbnail as image, or PDF, and then subsequently drag/drop these onto a Pages document.
