I am trying to restore my Macintosh TV.
It have System 7.6.1 installed.
I do not have the original installation media.
Is there somewhere where I can purchase the original installation media ?
I get this error message and system crash when I open "Control panel > TV setup "
Other wise the computer appears to be working okay.
If your up for it, I would download Stuffit 1.5.1 instead from the macintoshgarden.org (works w/ System 6 and up), then (if your using a Mac) make sure you have the app Unarchiver, transfer the files to a floppy disk (using a USB floppy drive) see if it. You should be able to adjust the format of the floppy disk if it doesn't work. If you are using a PPC Mac with a floppy drive installed, which would be better, get Unarchiver and extract the files and put onto floppy. I also may have the original System 7.1 with System Enabler for Macintosh TV that I could upload, no extraction required, just writing them to a floppy. I'll have to see if I have the TV tuner software somewhere in my archive files.
Which version TV Setup? If version 1.0.2, have you tried using System 7.5 instead of 7.6.1? See the text file link at Re: Is it possible to switch from Computer to TV mode on a Macintosh TV without a remote? Also, verify (and, if necessary, repair) the file system via Disk First Aid.
If you have a mac handy- I think "the unarchiver" can handle .bin and maybe .hqx

Classic macOS 7.6.1 is the latest available version of the operating system. If you have a computer with a 3.5inch floppy drive, you could easily find it on the internet and burn it to a disk. Otherwise, you could probably find it on eBay.
Oops, let me clarify a little more. Unarchiver will only work with OS X, but you need to use it to get the StuffIt files onto a floppy disk. You will need a Mac running OS X (10.4 and up) and a USB floppy drive to write those files. Then move over to the Mac TV. Install StuffIt onto the Mac TV, then opening the other files should be a breeze.

I also downloaded Stuffit app but it is in a .hqx file type that System 7.1 does not know how to open.
How can I open these file types in system 7.1 ?

The SCSI cdrom drive in my MacTV is dead !
No power on, and it is to hard to find a replacement with the right type of connectors.
Is there a way to hookup and external SCSI cdrom ?
