Facetime not available on iPhone 8 MQ6J2AE/A (Saudi Arabia) even though iOS 11.4

Hi, I recently purchased a new iPhone 8 64GB - model is MQ6J2AE/A. I bought this unit from a distributor based in Saudi Arabia. According to this article, point 1, Facetime is now available in Saudi Arabia with iOS 11.3 or later.

However, I currently have version 11.4 (15F79) installed and still it does not allow Facetime to be available/installed. When I try opening FaceTime from the App Store, it gives the following message: "This app requires specific features not available on this device."

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Ismail

You need to be using a Middle Eastern SIM card and the current carrier settings; on iPhones with the AE region code, FaceTime is enabled through these instead of being downloaded from the iTunes App Store.

SIM cards from the United Arab Emirates or Israel will not enable FaceTime on restricted iPhones; those originating in Israel itself have HB as the region code and aren’t restricted.
