Gesture for 3D map in Apple Maps app not working on Iphone?

Apple guide says "Place two fingers side by side on the map, then drag up" yet it won't work. Anyone?

Why can't I rotate Google Maps 180 degrees on my iPhone 11 Pro? I am not able to turn my phone upside down (rotate 180 degrees) so that I can have the charging port in top while I'm using Google Maps. It will go 90 degrees on both directions (rotate lock is "off"), and I could do this with my old iPhone 8 and iPhone SE. What happened with the iPhone 11?

Why does maps not rotate 180 on my 13? Just traded in my 7+ for a 13, I use maps all the time and my 7+ would rotate 180 so when charging and my phone upside down the map still displayed right side up. I can’t figure out how to get my 13 to do the same thing and it’s driving my crazy. I used to be able to just glance down at the map and now I have to pick it up all the time to see the turns.

I do know there's a button that says 3D that will get me there as well but just wondering if the drag-two-fingers-up is working for anyone else.
