Audio midi can't find Motu interface

I have a large midi studio of hardware synths and drum machines I was using digital performer and have switched over to logic. when setting up my midi studio within audio midi program no interfaces will show up I have 2/ motu 128 expresses and an AV 128, 3 total. I have multiple people playing multiple devices at thats why i need anything to access anything at any given time with a click of the mouse. Scan scan scan but nothing, If I can just get audio midi to recognize my interfaces then i can build up my routing matrix from there, and can setup a track template with everything I have Does anyone have this kind of setup and could help not much out there on youtube about this kind of setup sounds complicated but was easy in DP. Thanks Peace and love from the Big Island

Nice studio, Hawaii420! I assume you have all MOTU drivers up to date (but if not, download and install them). I'd recommend to close all the apps, unplug the MOTU interfaces, restart the Mac, then plug them again and see if that helps.

Besides, I noticed that in your screenshot, the IAC Driver icon is named "motu". That's unusual, in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply, Had to go into security settings in the OS and allow motu drivers why I have no idea, so problem solved for seeing interfaces..!!! Next issue is, everything is connected to the interfaces midi in and out. Let's say I have one external midi controller that outputs on 16 different midi channels and I have one external rackmount synthesizer that I want that controller to control the 16 independent poly phonic midi channels, for instance my MPC can output it on any midi channel and I want to control my Roland 1080 all I want to do is to change the track on my MPC which may be set to any midi channel say ch. 5 and I want to control the Roland 1080 midi channel 12 I want to set up a template in logic that all I have to do is click on midi channel 12 and the drum machine will control it. It might sound confusing or complicated but in Digital performer anything could control anything in my previous studio configuration just by clicking on the mouse. I'm sure logic can do it just need to figure out how to set up one controller to control one synthesizer and then maybe I can figure it out from there?

I guess the question I'm asking is how do I create a bunch of channels with different midi channels assigned to each, and then how do I tell that channel to be controlled by a particular device via a midi channel..?

Thanks man !!

Hawaii420, everything that you mentioned above is possible once you master Logic's MIDI Environment (not the most intuitive at first, but powerful AF when it comes to customized MIDI setups).

Here's the Environment user guide: https://help.apple.com/logicpro/mac/10.4/#/lgcpf755dc51

Basically, you'd have to create a template project where you'd tweak the Environment in such a way that the hardware MIDI instruments in your studio are all represented as instrument objects. Say, both the MPC and Roland1080 should have their own Environment objects connected to each other and to Logic's sequencer. I'm sure you'll figure it out once you read the user guide. But if not, feel free to ask. Cheers!
