[Need Help] OSX 10.7.5 cannot download nor update software from appstore

Hello everyone,

I currently have re-imaged my Mac to the factory version > OS X 10.7.5 and having hard time to upgrade to El Capitan.

The issue is I was able to navigate to the OS (El Capitan) on the AppStore but couldn't download and install it on my mac. Please see screenshots.

The errors indicate that I need to update the software, but when I did "Software Update" from the "apple" logo, it says "Your software is up to date".

Anyone know how to fix this, your help would be much appreciated.

Yes Apple have tripped over themselves here, on the 30th of June they deprecated older Mac OS X's like Lion from being able to update the payment information in the App Store suggesting that if you want to update you payment information you would need to upgrade your OS. But in doing so they have managed to lock you out of doing so thus creating a Catch 22. Apple have been informed, if you would like to send them feedback please do. Feedback - macOS - Apple the more feedback they get the more likely they are to do something about it.
