The latest version is iOS 11.4, future updates are still in Beta testing.

Did already force restart the phone after the update? You will not lose data.

  • On an iPhone X, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
  • On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Side and Volume Down buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
  • On an iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Other users report, that changing the Wi-Fi channel on your router back from 5GHz to 2.4GHz can help to improve your battery life.

I upgraded my IPhone 5S to 11.4.1 a few days ago. If I am not on Wi-Fi & Cellular is turned off, battery life is fine. What I saw just now is typical of my issue: I had 88% battery life indicated on the battery meter with Cellular off & not connected to Wi-Fi. I turned Cellular on & connected to the internet for about a minute then my battery percentage indicator dropped to 30% battery life. I plugged the IPhone into power; turned the phone off & then back on and the battery percentage indicator showed 80% battery power. After unplugging from power the battery percentage indicator stayed at 80%. The other day it dropped from 90% to 10% in a couple of minutes then back to 70% when plugged into power. Although I cannot be sure, it looks as if my actual battery drain is about the same as before installing 11.4.1 but the battery indicator level has gone wonkers.
