classic ipod is not syncing with latest version of itunes. I have updayed windows

I had the same issue! I reinstalled, I restored my iPod Classic 160gb and nothing was working, as far as I knew I was using the most up to date version! Apple told me under the HELP tab of iTunes, there was (it’s not there anymore) a CHECK FOR UPDATES option, it lead me to a new version (437mb) download, it also prompted me to install a new version of Apple Support so that my device would properly communicate with iTunes. I restarted my computer after it was downloaded AND installed, did one more restore on my iPod and no more issues!! Hope it works for you!! I’m so relieved!

Have you checked to make sure that your sync settings are still in place? I've seen cases where iTunes forgets what options were in force and you have to set it up again.

What happens when you try? Does the device show up in iTunes? Does it show in Windows if you put it into disk mode?
