The app (Erany) I was using an app specific password for was causing it so I haven’t signed back into it and it hasn’t happened again. I need to notify the app to let them know there is something wrong.
You can also add 2 Factor Authentication to your account for more security. If the attempts continue, you might want to consider a name change.

It requests my Apple ID password and if I hit cancel it pops up again and if I cancel again it will go away but my Apple ID will be locked so I won’t get any new emails. If I immediately enter my password it still locks my Apple ID and makes me reset the password.
I'm having the same problem. Twice in the last three weeks my iPhone suddenly tells me I need to first enter my password in Settings, then tells my I need to reset the password. This is a royal pain. How do I stop it?
I already have it set to make me get the six digit code to allow me to change my password. Why is it constantly signing me out and making me sign back in which leads to me changing my password?
Where are you being signed out? Are you actually signed out or is it just requesting your password?
