iOS is the operating system used for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Your Mac would be running OS X [Lion].
I wouldn't worry about the -sh-3.2# prompt if you're in Recovery Mode or if you're booted into Single User Mode. It's appeared to me before and Terminal worked perfectly fine. However, if you're booted normally into your Mac, the # symbol may be indicating root privileges. If this is the case, try restarting your Mac and see if the issue persists.
