Trying to get Photo to put pictures in order taken. Only puts them by date and random as to time taken. Want pictures in order taken. How can you do it?

Yes it will sort them by date, but the photos are not in order by time of day. Photo puts files from iPhone in some crazy order in photo on the mac. Photo only sorts by date not date and time. You can create an album and move the files in order but if you took 100 photos in one day it is time consuming to rearrange the photos. I want them in order by date and time.
That's strange. Photos does sort by date and time for most of us. There are certain specific reasons why pictures might not appear that way. Let's analyze which might apply to you.
You posted in the "Photos for Mac" forum, so I assume you are viewing these pictures in he Photos app on a Mac of some sort. Which type of Mac, running what level of macOS?
If you create a user album, add some photos, and request a date/time sort (not manually), do you still see pictures in "some crazy order"?
Were all of the pictures in question taken by an iPhone? The same iPhone or multiple? (If other cameras are involved, there may be a time zone mismatch.)
Have you tried repairing your Photos library?
Is your Photos library in its default position in the user Library folder on your internal disk, or has it been moved? If moved, was it to elsewhere on the internal disk or somewhere else?
How are you getting your pictures from your iPhone(s) (and cameras) to the Photos library on your Mac?
System albums have a fixed sort - the Photos view is always sorted by photo date - the Imports album is sorted by import date (a lot like Events were in iphoto)
User albums can be sorted by photo date ascending or descending or alpha title or manually

Needed to select all photos in album before sorting. I did not do this before, just went into album and selected sort. Now pictures are in right order.
In Photo how do you sort pictures in date and time order so that pictures are in order by when taken?
