iphone back up disappeared

my iphone back up has disappeared

iPhone 6, iOS 11.4

It's entirely possible... probable, even, that the new phone is running a slightly older version of iOS than your old phone. You can't restore a backup made with a newer version to a device running an older version.

Update iOS on your new phone to the current version, then try to restore the backup.

That is the only place they will ever be.

You can see the backups that iTunes knows about by going to iTunes Preferences, Devices tab.

iTunes backup? iCloud backup? When was the last time you made a backup of each type, if both? How do you know it disappeared?

Thx for taking time to reply Lawrence. 10 days ago I have backed up my iphone 6 to my pc via itunes because I was going to replace my iphone. Then I get a new iphone and then boom. There was no backup in itunes to restore. I chkd the correct file location as described in help but no it is not there. (Btw, I dont know if it is related or not but meantime my pc installed a new version of itunes.) Many thx.

where else itunes backups would be other than appdata-roaming-applecomputer-mobilesync-backup or microsoft version of itunes folder? or better, is there any tool available to search for my entire hard disk to locate itunes back up files?
