iPhone 7 isn't waterproof

I dropped my iPhone 7 in a shallow kitchen sink for .05 seconds. I turned it off, and let it dry out in a bag of fresh cat litter for 8 hours. When I turned it on, the home button is now super sensitive and often multi-taps from one press. There's a clear water line in the screen. It's a refurbished phone because the original phone Apple sold me stopped working.

So, it's waterproof, right? Can withstand being meters under water for long periods of time? Then why am I being forced to pay a $149 deductible to replace the phone?! Especially when it's already been replaced and it's refurbished! Makes no sense whatsoever.

The water resistant test was done in pure water and under certain temperature, with a brand new phone.

Any small things can affect the seal of your phone, like a drop or just normal use after sometime.

The phone was made water resistant but it doesn't mean water damage due to human error should be covered.

Just like every phone screen was made tough but if you crack it, you'll need to pay for it.
