Mac App Store Missing

My Mac App store is missing. I want to upgrade to High Sierra but I cannot access the store. I have looked for it and tried several online recommended fixes and it appears to not exist on my computer. It is on the tool bar but when clicked it bounces once and does nothing.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Also try the Safe Mode. If it will work in either of those, you can upgrade from there.

Have you checked your Applications folder for the program? The Dock alias may be corrupt.

See if you can find the file(s) using one of these programs. If you go Finder/View/Show Path Bar, it will show you where it is located.

If necessary, do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair Disk and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS.
