since the update I am losing wifi connection , I would be browsing the internet or watching YouTube then bang no internet I then after switch the phones WiFi off and on again and no my internet is fine due to working ok on other devices that’s not running iOS

I have the same problem. Initially happened with my iPad, try to avoid the same update at my iPhone 6. Unfortunately, was accidentally forced into the update, same problem. Very annoying.
I changed the Virgin media Super Hub 2 to the Super Hub 3 and it has fixed the problem. Been working without issue for a couple of days

Perhaps I could make the interval somewhat less than 10 minutes, because my hang-ups seem shorter. I will experiment.
It might also help to include a fixed reservation for each device.

Same issue on my iPad, resolved temporarily by switching WiFi networks. Very frustrating!
Same problems in combo with Airport Extreme last generation, yesterday i set iphone mac adress to a fixed ip no and knock on wood seems to solved it for me, much more stable connection :-)
Good news the ios12 update seems to have sorted out the problem and other good news seems faster on iOS 12 then 11.4.1 so we’ll worth updating your phones
Great, but amazing, that Apple did not even answer to this bug, no comment.
I was anxious to install iOS 12 I did it on the release day hoping that would fix the problem with my Wi-Fi issues on my iPhone 6 it did NOT help
Agreed with yorkshirejoe: iOS 12 has fixed the problem in my case. Now I can answer calls from iPad and iPod, the iPhone reconnects to the known Network properly.

Nope, tried it many times, doesn’t work. Airport, iPad Pro, iPhone, all clean all w/ updates. Also PwC iPad & iPhone. so what’s going on?
