Call drop but last words repeat

Several times today I've had a call drop, and when it does, I get cut off but the recipient on the line hears my last sentence on a revolving loop

iPhone 7, iOS 11.4.1

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, Nymetals1313!

I understand you're experiencing call drops on your iPhone and the party on the other line hears the last part that was spoken on a loop. I can understand how concerning this may be, especially when trying to have a conversation. I'd be happy to provide information that may help you out.

Let's start with some basic steps: Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad

You can manually check for and install a carrier settings update with these steps:

  1. Make sure your device is connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network.
  2. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier settings.

To see the version of carrier settings on your device, tap Settings > General > About and look next to Carrier.

If you insert a new SIM card into your iPhone or iPad, you need to download the carrier settings for your new carrier.

Also, make sure your SIM card is correctly seated: Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPhone or iPad

iPhone

Find your model below to locate the SIM tray. To pop open the SIM tray, insert a paper clip or a SIM-eject tool into the hole beside the tray. Push in, towards the iPhone, but don’t force it. If you're having difficulty ejecting the SIM tray, take your device to your carrier or an Apple Store for help.

After you remove your SIM card from the tray, notice the notch in one corner of the new SIM card. Place the new SIM card into the tray—it will fit only one way, because of the notch. Then insert the tray into the device completely and in the same orientation that you removed it. The tray also fits only one way.

If the issue continues after those steps, try restoring: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Get your device ready

  1. Check that you have the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or PC. If you can't access a computer and your device still works, you can erase and restore your device without a computer.
  2. If you want to save the information on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod, make a backup.
  3. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud, then turn off Find My iPhone. For an unresponsive device or one that won't turn on, learn what to do. If you forgot your passcode, get help.

If after all this the issue continues, please contact your carrier to check for outages.
