left shift key on my 13 inch MacBook Pro is unresponsive

the key doesn't do anything, will not capitalize, will not select items above the numbers either

Hi,

You'd better make Genius Bar reservation or contact Apple support or take your MacBook Pro to Apple authorized service provider to check it up.
