Laptop disconnects from Iphone hotspot

I run a Dell Latitude E5440 laptop and a iphone 5SE

My laptop will detect a wifi router and provide good connection to the net.

When I try to use the hot spot on the 5SE, the laptop can wee the iphone and will allow me to go the next step of putting in the iphone password.

After a second or two I get the connected advice and then half a second later to laptop disconnects.

I have tried rebooting both. I have tried removing the iphone profile using the control panel.

I get the same result what ever I do.

The iphone will run as a hotspot to an ipad, all ok.

There must be a setting somewhere I am not seeing.

Can anyone help?

Connect your Windows PC to Personal Hotspot with USB

Update to the latest version of iTunes.

With a USB cable, connect your computer to the iPhone or iPad that provides Personal Hotspot. If prompted, trust the device.

Make sure that you can locate and view your iPhone or iPad in iTunes. If your Windows PC doesn't recognize your device, try a different USB cable.

Follow the steps provided by Microsoft to check your Internet connection in Windows 10 or Windows 7.

Make sure you also have the latest updates for your laptop.
