Midi VOlume Control - GarageBand

Hi all!

I was wondering if anybody knew the trick for controlling the volumes on imported midi tracks. The midis I have imported are from Guitar Pro 5 (real old school LOL) and the volume is full blast on most of those.

As a result, the volume is set to full blast in Garageband as well. Even though I use the volume control and set it to 0db, when I play it back it defaults back to full volume.

I really appreciate anybody's help on this!

see if there are some automation points set in the MIDI file, and delete them

open the editor pane, show the automation points, and check the various choices in the Controller popUp menu (Volume, or Velocity would be the likely targets)
